Hello, welcome to James Dai’s web home
I am a biostatistician, data scientist and quantitative cancer researcher dedicated to developing cancer diagnostic and early detection biomarkers.
I have extensive experiences and expertise in design and analysis of randomized clinical trials, statistical genetics and genomics, epidemiologic analysis in mediation and instrumental variables regression. See my CV and my publications for more information.
My education and career path has been an interesting (and unique) one!
- In my current role since 2022 as senior biostatistics director in GRAIL LLC, I focus on research and clinical development of blood-based multi-cancer early detection (MCED) tests.
- Previously I have been a faculty member of Biostatistics Program, Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center for 15 years, working in the intersection of statistics, genomics and causal inference in the context of randomized clinical trials and observational cohorts.
- I graduated from Peking Univeristy Health Science Center with a Bachelor of Medicine degree. Since then I obtained a MS degree in Molecular Pathology from University of Pittsburgh, a MS degree in Biostatistics from Univeristy of Minnesota, a Ph.D. degree in Biostatistics from University of Washington.
Migrating from academia to industry, the mission of my career has been research and development for precision medicine and cancer early detection biomarkers that can reduce cancer burden, improve healthcare and save lives.
